Data Deletion

You can delete your KidsHalo account, a single child profile, or specific categories of data at any time. This page explains exactly what gets removed, how long it takes, and how to request it.

Option 1 — Self-serve in the app (fastest)

  1. Sign in at kidshalo.com/app (or open the Android Parent app).
  2. Go to Settings → Export & delete.
  3. To remove a single child or specific data categories, use Children → Edit → Delete instead.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm. Deletion runs immediately.

Option 2 — Request without signing in

If you can't sign in (lost account, uninstalled app, deceased relative), submit the form below or email privacy@kidshalo.com from the address associated with the account. We complete verified requests within 30 days and confirm by email.

By submitting, you confirm you are the account holder or their authorised representative.

What gets deleted

When you delete your family account, we permanently erase:

  • Your parent profile, name, email-to-account mapping, and avatar.
  • Every child profile in the family (name, birthdate, notes, avatar).
  • All paired devices, device tokens, and pending commands.
  • All app usage events, installed-app catalogs, location pings, and message-scan snippets.
  • All rules, filters, geofences, unlock requests, alerts, and family chat messages.
  • Co-parent memberships, invitations, audit logs scoped to the family.
  • Stored avatars in our private storage bucket.
  • Your authentication record — you will be signed out everywhere.

Anonymous, aggregated metrics that no longer identify you may be retained for service reliability. Billing records (Stripe, RevenueCat) and minimal transaction history are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law (up to 7 years), with no profile data attached.

Granular options before full deletion

  • Delete one child — Children → child → Delete. Wipes that child's devices, history, rules, and alerts.
  • Delete a category — Children → child → Edit → "Delete data" → choose Location / Usage / Messages / Alerts.
  • Purge by retention — Settings → Retention. Set the window per category and run "Purge now".
  • Export first — Settings → "Download my data (JSON)" produces a full archive before deletion.

Timing & confirmation

Self-serve deletion is immediate. Email-based requests are completed within 30 days of verification, and we send a confirmation email when done. Backups are encrypted and rotate out within 35 days.
